Musical Bonding ….

By Sarmishtha Sarkar

Friendships develop along the way, especially on journeys that are arduous, difficult and taxing. The fun, frolic and laughter are thrown in for good measure and bonds become stronger and long lasting.

Vipul and Anuradha enjoying a light moment during a show..

As the pictures show..here are two people who have been an extremely important part of our performing group.
Vipul Trivedi, a multi talented musician, was introduced to me in the early eighties. We were looking for a singer for our upcoming Europe tour. He was introduced through s common friend, and the responsibility of auditioning him was given to  Anuradha. He had a good voice and musical sense, and  he was very good on the key board …but he was very quiet and his performance was also quiet and intense. I remember that morning vividly. There was something about him, beyond his music that touched a chord. Both Anuradha and I decided to follow our instincts and chose him to sing for our tour.
And since then till date..we have never looked back! Its been almost 34 years..and our association blossomed into a friendship. He has always been there, a rock solid support..both on and off stage. Level headed, practical and ever smiling! Over the years he blossomed into an excellent musician as a singer, percussionist, sitarist and composer. His wife also joined in occasionally as a dancer. And his daughter Manali is an excellent dancer and now dances with me  in my professional team. How time flies!

After a performance posing for a photo!

Anuradha and Vipul connected well from the very beginning and when they sang together on stage their chemistry was amazing!

We had a lot of fun times together, performing and travelling. As the photos shows, we shared and still share many happy moments together!
